About Us

We are a group of graduate students in the sciences who are passionate about what we do and want to share our love of science with the world.

Partnering with local libraries gives us the perfect venue to do just that. We currently host monthly sessions at the Chapel Hill Public Library. Typically, two presenters will come to give a talk on an area of science they find particularly fascinating, which is generally followed by an educational activity or demonstration relating to the talk. We encourage lots of participation! Please check our calender for specific dates and times of upcoming events. Sessions typically run one to one and a half hours.

Science in the Stacks was founded by Jason Richmond and Peter Morse.

  1. We just heard of Science in the Stacks recently. It sounds like a great source of enrichment for kids. We cannot wait to attend a session.
    Thank you!

    • We certainly have fun, too! We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming demonstration – our next one is this Sunday, December 13 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel Hill Public Library, where we will be talking about some of the science involved in Winter.
